  • Explore Phnom Penh and Saigon, touring sites important to the cities’ 20th-century histories
  • Travel in extraordinary comfort and see many of the countries’ cultural highpoints.

  • Our expedition is crafted to offer a rare and personal look into the ways of life along the Mekong River and the histories of the people of these two very different countries. Discover a blend of tradition and innovation in these rapidly changing countries—now is a wonderful time to explore them.

Explore soul-stirring sites of antiquity
The expansive and visionary 12th-century Cambodian temple of Angkor Wat is sure to be a highlight of your expedition. With its five crowned towers, excellent bas-reliefs, scores of statues and monks going about their daily routines, it’s the crown jewel of a vast complex of temples and monuments in the region. You’ll spend two days exploring the Angkor area, seeing some of the most sublime works ever created. Visit pagodas in Vietnam and impressive temples in Cambodia.

Travel in excellent company
Explore under the sure guidance of an expedition leader, historian, and naturalist. Get more from local guides who join us aboard ship and in Angkor, Phnom Penh, and Saigon. Learn a bit about navigation while sharing the bridge with our captain. Your team’s knowledge and passion for Vietnam and Cambodia is the key to your once-in-a-lifetime experience

A powerful, eclectic experience
A journey through Cambodia and Vietnam makes for a hugely interesting and varied experience. These beautiful countries with centuries of history and culture, which experienced so much war and dislocation, are now developing swiftly — their welcoming people working hard to secure a better future.

Among the greatest sites of antiquity in the world
Walk in the sublime temples at Angkor, a World Heritage Site built by the Khmer people over a 400-year period that ended in the 13th century. With one never-to-be-forgotten monument, vista and carving after another, and with magnificent Angkor Wat the centerpiece, the Angkor area stands out as a place that absolutely must be experienced.

Explore Saigon and Phnom Penh
At the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh you’ll bear witness to the devastating effects of the rule of the Khmer Rouge, and also experience the dynamic, positive spirit of these people as they rapidly rebuild their lives and country. We’ll also stay in the great Vietnamese city of Saigon (officially called Ho Chi Minh City), a burgeoning metropolis with an interesting colonial legacy.

Voyage aboard Jahan, a richly-appointed river ship
The new 48-guest river ship Jahan affords us access to places that would otherwise be difficult to reach. Her cabins are spacious, each with a private balcony, and she offers a standard of accommodation and service that has until now been unknown in this part of the world.

Life On Board

Each ship in the National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions fleet is a destination in its own right, featuring thoughtfully curated amenities and cultural experiences that connect you with the region you explore through culinary delights, performances by local musicians, soothing spa treatments, and more.

Strong relationships with local experts, farmers and artisans help infuse an authentic sense of place into your onboard experiences while creating a more well-rounded story. No matter which ship carries you to your destination, your time on board will be as rewarding as your time on shore.

Savor the Flavors of Your Destination
Sampling local cuisine is a highlight of the onboard experience, and National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions takes great care to bring the culinary riches of each destination to the meals you enjoy on board. Executive chefs design unique and innovative menus that feature modern takes on classic cuisine as well as essential dishes from the regions you visit, like paella in Spain or fresh udon in Japan.

Relationships with local farmers, vintners, and other purveyors enable you to enjoy immersive culinary experiences, both on board and onshore. In the Azores, pick fresh ingredients at a market guided by a local chef, or sample renowned wines in Bordeaux. Expeditions to the Galápagos Islands and the Pacific Northwest feature a sustainable farm-to-table dining program to incorporate the freshest ingredients into daily meals while supporting local agriculture and seafood industries.

Rejuvenate With Our Wellness Program
Dedicated wellness spaces—including treatment rooms, saunas, fitness centers, and more—invite you to tap into the soothing rhythms of the ocean. You can greet the day with a sunrise yoga session led by your ship’s wellness specialist, get in a workout with stunning views of Antarctic icebergs, or unwind in the spa with a restorative deep tissue massage from our fully accredited massage therapists. Treatments are tailored to each guest and incorporate natural ingredients from the surrounding lands and waters.

Immersive Music Experiences
Ethnomusicologist Jacob Edgar curates onboard musical experiences so that your time at sea is accompanied by melodies that are reminiscent of our ports of call. For select voyages, he arranges performances featuring local musicians whose songs bring the rich traditions of the surrounding regions to life. Enjoy a warm greeting by local singers and dancers as you sail into the South Pacific island of Wallis, dance to the beats of Guyana’s popular calypso music, or experience an impassioned choral ensemble in the echoing grand ruins of Visby, Sweden. Each experience taps you into the rhythms of the regions you'll explore, offering a unique window into the identity of the destination.

The Art of Expedition Travel
Ship interiors tell the stories of your destinations through local artwork and decor, infusing each vessel with an authentic sense of place. On voyages aboard National Geographic Endurance and National Geographic Resolution, you can walk through the corridors and shared spaces as you take in the first-ever ship-based exhibitions of visual and auditory works, created to express the fragile beauty of the polar regions.
